Milk & Yoghurt

La Latteria Milk

The majority of our milk is sourced from Donnybrook Farm, on the northern outskirts of Melbourne. Their herd of Friesian dairy cows are pasture and grain fed only. We also source some milk from Whittlesea, Murray-Goulbourn and Warrnambool.

La Latteria MilkDonnybrook Farm pump their milk directly from the milking shed to the holding tank daily where it is simply pasteurised and sent to us.

Our milk is un-homogenised and gives you the old fashioned “cream at the top of the bottle” experience.

We also have skimmed milk available. This is produced when we separate the full cream milk for our pure cream.

La Latteria MilkWe bottle all of our milk in 1 litre glass returnable bottles.

We can also supply larger quantities for home cheese makers if ordered in advance.

 

Yoghurt

Simplicity is the key with our yoghurt. We simply set the milk (the same milk we use for all of our cheese making) with live cultures.
There are no preservatives, additives or gelatine.

Varieties available in 250g or 1 Litre tubs are natural, sweetened with sugar or sweetened with bush honey.

We also make natural 100% buffalo milk yoghurt available in 250g tubs. 1 Litre tubs available on request.

Pure Cream

Our cream is simply separated from the milk and has a fat content of 40-45%. It has a slightly sweet taste and is perfect to dollop on top of your favourite dessert. It is also suitable to cook with and makes great pannacotta.
